Private 55ft Luxury Yacht Rental in Cancun
A private 55-foot yacht with a crew that you rent for 1 to 8 hours. Snorkel gear, a paddle board and a floating mattress are on board.
Check AvailabilityThe Hotel Zone runs between the Nichupte lagoon and the Caribbean, and Isla Mujeres lies about 13 km across the bay. Cancun yacht rentals differ on three things: a price per boat or per person, the hours you book, and the dock fee you pay in cash at the marina.
Cancun yacht rentals start at $250 per boat for the shortest option on a private yacht, while shared cruises start at $89 per person. A private price covers the whole boat up to its guest cap, so the per-head math changes with your group. Dock or marine park fees are paid on top, usually in cash at the marina.
Key takeaways
A private price covers the whole boat up to its guest cap, and the from-price is the shortest option on the listing, 1 or 2 hours on some boats. Shared cruises are priced per person. The platform takes the payment, and every listing except the Hip Hop Boat Party cancels free up to 24 hours before departure. Dock, marine park or port fees are paid on top in cash where the card says so.

Seven private yachts leave from the Hotel Zone or from Isla Mujeres, from a 46-footer at $250 per boat to a 55-footer with food at $2,300. The price buys the whole boat and its crew.

The seven private motor yachts compared on the from-price per boat, the guest cap, the marina and the fee each listing adds. The from-price is the shortest rental on each listing, not the price of an Isla Mujeres day, and most fees are paid in cash at the marina.
| Yacht | From | Guests | Marina | On top |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter | $357.44/boat | Up to 20 | Marina Puesta del Sol | Dock fee in cash (Viator lists $14) |
| Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours | $314/boat | Up to 8 | 2 points, not named | $13 docking fee per person |
| 46ft Private Yacht Rental | $250/boat | Up to 15 | Marina Sunset Lagoon | Dock fee, amount not stated |
| 52ft Yacht Rental | $1,339/boat | Up to 12 | Marina Kaybal, km 3.5 | Port tax, amount not stated |
| 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks | $2,300/boat | Up to 15 | Marina La Amada, Isla Mujeres | None stated |
| Azimut 47 Yacht to Isla Mujeres | $2,310/boat | Up to 18 | Hotel Zone, marina not named | Dock tax of 100 Mexican pesos per person |
| Isla Mujeres Private Yacht | $720/boat | Up to 20 | Marina Bartolome or Punta Sam | Dock fees both sides (Viator lists $10) |
Captain and crew come with every one of these private yachts. Ice and bottled water are standard, and the soda count varies: 15 bottles on the 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter, 4 liters of Coca Cola on the Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours, none on the 46ft Private Yacht Rental where you bring your own. Snorkel gear is listed on the 55ft charter, the 46-footer, the 52-footer and the Isla Mujeres Private Yacht.
Alcohol and food appear only on the higher listings: the 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks serves ceviche, guacamole and quesadillas with a bar of beer, rum, vodka and tequila, and the Azimut 47 carries 24 waters, 24 sodas and 24 beers. The rest expect you to bring your own drinks and food, which the 46-footer and 52-footer allow. Music runs off your phone over Bluetooth on at least three boats.
At check-in, bring a photo ID with your digital ticket, and the 52ft Yacht Rental asks you at the marina 30 minutes before departure. Tips are on top everywhere.
Three listings are priced by the hour and let you choose: the 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter runs 1 to 8 hours, the Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours starts its 2-hour option in the bay and the lagoon channels, and the 46ft Private Yacht Rental runs 1 to 6 hours on Cancun Bay. The Isla Mujeres run needs more time, and the crossings take about 30 to 40 minutes each way from the Cancun lagoon marinas. The Azimut 47 Yacht to Isla Mujeres is built around it, a 6-hour route through the blanquizales snorkel stop, Punta Sur and Garrafon, Playa Norte and a sunset in the bay.
The 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks leaves from Marina La Amada on Isla Mujeres itself, so there is no crossing at all, and the 4 hours are spent at Playa Norte and downtown. The Isla Mujeres Private Yacht departs from Isla Mujeres or picks up at Cancun hotels, and its $720 covers 6 people, with guests 7 to 15 paying an extra $50 each up to a cap of 20.
The sailing and fishing listings cover: two catamarans, a monohull sailboat pair and a 31-foot Bertram for anglers. Catamarans trade speed for deck space, which matters when the group grows past what a motor yacht carries.
Two private catamarans, a private sailboat and a fishing boat compared on the from-price per boat, the guest cap, the boat and the hours. Figures come from the listings. The fishing charter is the lowest-priced private boat in this group and the 35-guest catamaran the largest on the page.
| Charter | From | Guests | Boat | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private Catamaran Charter | $899/boat | Up to 13 | 32 ft catamaran | 4-7 hours |
| Half-Day Catamaran for 35 | $2,450/boat | Up to 35 | Catamaran | 4 hours |
| Private Sailing Tour | $549.34/boat | Not stated | 40 or 50 ft monohull | 4-8 hours |
| Private Fishing Charter | $399/boat | Up to 6 | Bertram 31 ft | 2-8 hours |
Deck space is the argument. The Half-Day Catamaran for 35 takes up to 35 guests for $2,450, the largest private group on the page, with hotel transfers, bilingual guides, an open bar of domestic drinks, a snorkel at El Meco reef and a tequila party on the return, and a $25 per person docking fee on top. No motor yacht on this page carries more than 20.
For mid-size groups, the Private Catamaran Charter sits at $899 with an open bar, snorkel gear and a choice between Isla Mujeres and the bay, and one warning: the title says up to 13 while the description says a maximum of 9 passengers, so confirm the guest cap before you book.
The Private Sailing Tour runs two monohulls, the vintage 40-foot Karma and the 50-foot Maya, from in front of Beloved Hotel Playa Mujeres. You pick 4, 5, 6 or 8 hours, and the 8-hour option stops at Isla Mujeres long enough to visit the island while the boat waits, with the dock taxes for that stop included. Drinks scale with the option, the 5, 6 and 8-hour ones include alcohol.
Marina fees in Cancun are extra. The Private Fishing Charter is a Bertram 31 ft for up to 6 anglers, 3 to 20 miles offshore for trolling and bottom fishing around Isla Mujeres, where the listing names white and blue marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado, wahoo, shark and barracuda. Fishing licences cost $10 per person at the marina and the dock fee is separate.
The 2-hour option stays on the lake, so pick 4 hours or more for the sea. The listing words it plainly: if you don't fish you don't pay.
Three films before you book: a charter boat leaving the Hotel Zone, a family day to Isla Mujeres, and a couple's afternoon on a rented yacht.
The operator of the pick shows its boats and the bay.

A private charter is priced per boat, a shared cruise is priced per person, and both carry cash fees at the marina that the listed price does not cover. This page compares the catalog prices and every stated fee.
The eight private charters with a stated per-boat price, compared on the from-price, the shortest option it buys and the fee each listing adds. The figures are US dollars from the booking listings, for the whole boat. Longer options cost more and are priced on each listing.
| Charter | From | Shortest option | Fee on top |
|---|---|---|---|
| 46ft Private Yacht Rental, Cancun Yacht Rentals | $250 per boat | 1 hour | Dock fee for Cancun Bay, amount not stated in the listing, platform lists extra charges of $14 |
| Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours, Cancun yachts rental | $314 per boat | 2 hours | Docking fee of $13 per person |
| 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter, cancun charter | $357.44 per boat | 1 hour | Dock fee paid in cash at the marina, amount left blank on the listing, platform lists extra charges of $14 |
| Private Fishing Charter, Cancun Fishing Tours | $399 per boat | 2 hours | Fishing licenses at $10 per person at the marina, dock fee extra, platform lists $14 |
| Private Sailing Tour, SailboatCancun | $549.34 per boat | 4 hours | Marina fees in Cancun, amount not stated, platform lists extra charges of $15 |
| Isla Mujeres Private Yacht, Isla Fun Tours | $720 per boat | 4 hours, price covers up to 6 guests | Dock fees for Isla Mujeres and Cancun, platform lists extra charges of $10 |
| Private Catamaran Charter, Cancun Sailing Catamarans | $899 per boat | 4 hours | $15 per person payable at check-in |
| 52ft Yacht Rental, Jopa Travel | $1,339 per boat | 4 hours | Port tax, amount not stated |
Every private price above is for the whole boat up to its guest cap, not per person, and it is the shortest duration option on the listing. The 46ft Private Yacht Rental starts at 1 hour, the 52ft Yacht Rental starts at 4 hours, and a run to Isla Mujeres generally needs the longer options rather than the from-price.
Then come the cash extras. The Costa Occidental de Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancun y Punta Nizuc national park charges an official entrance fee of 125 pesos per person per day according to CONANP, the national parks authority, and snorkelers receive a wristband as proof of payment. Independent guides put the dock or park fees actually collected on Cancun charters anywhere from about $14 per person (Cancun Trip Insider) to 14 to 25 dollars per person (Sailo) or 10 to 20 dollars (GetMyBoat). Some listings state their own figure, such as the $13 per person docking fee on the Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours or the $15 per person fee at check-in on the Private Catamaran Charter.
Tips are not in any of these prices. Two independent guides, Zama Charters and Cancun Trip Insider, both call a crew tip of 10 to 15 percent customary. On the Viator listings, checkout adds a mandatory extra of $10 to $15 that the from-price leaves out, as the table shows.
A private boat carries one price up to its cap, which ranges from 6 guests on the fishing charter to 20 on the 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter. A shared cruise charges each guest separately, from $89 per person on the 2-hour Sunset Sailing Cruise to $148 per person on the Sunset Lagoon Yacht Cruise, with the 7-hour Dancer Cruise to Isla Mujeres at $119 per person. Where a private boat becomes better value than a shared cruise depends on how many people are on your list, the length you need and the fees on top, so set the card prices against your own group size.

The departure point sets your route before you pick a boat. Hotel Zone marinas on the Nichupte lagoon run out through the lagoon channels to the bay, while Isla Mujeres and Playa Mujeres departures start already on the water side of the crossing.

Every marina the charters on this page name, compared on where it sits and which boats leave from it, with the kilometer marker on Boulevard Kukulcan where a listing or a source gives one. Some listings never name a kilometer marker, and no source gives one for Marina Puesta del Sol or Marina Sunset Lagoon. The meeting details come from the tours themselves, so check the card for the exact spot, such as the Cafe Mahi-Mahi at the entrance to Marina Puesta del Sol or Restaurante Caminos at Marina Sunset Lagoon.
| Marina | Where | Charters here |
|---|---|---|
| Marina Puesta del Sol | Hotel Zone, kilometer marker not stated | 55ft Luxury Yacht Charter |
| Marina Sunset Lagoon | Hotel Zone, kilometer marker not stated | 46ft Private Yacht Rental |
| Cancun Sunset Marina | Next to the restaurant KRUDO | Private Fishing Charter |
| Marina Kaybal | Boulevard Kukulcan km 3.5, Hotel Zone | 52ft Yacht Rental |
| Caribbean Carnival Pier at Playa Tortugas | Boulevard Kukulcan km 6.5, next to the Playa Tortugas ferry terminal | Hip Hop Boat Party |
| Marina offices at Plaza La Isla | Boulevard Kukulcan km 12.5, Hotel Zone | Sunset Lagoon Yacht Cruise |
| Marina La Amada | Isla Mujeres | 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks |
| Marina Bartolome / Punta Sam | Marina Bartolome is near the ferry terminal on Isla Mujeres, Punta Sam is the mainland ferry terminal | Isla Mujeres Private Yacht |
| In front of Beloved Hotel, Playa Mujeres | Mainland north of the Hotel Zone | Private Sailing Tour |
The Hotel Zone is a 22.5 km strip shaped like the number 7, lying between the Nichupte Lagoon on the west and the Caribbean Sea on the east. Marinas such as Marina Kaybal at km 3.5 sit on the lagoon side, and boats leave through the lagoon channels to reach the Bay of Cancun before turning up the coast. The 2-hour option on the Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours stays in the bay and lagoon channels, which is the shortest route out of these marinas.
Getting there is easy because Boulevard Kukulcan is a single road inside the Hotel Zone. The R-1 and R-2 buses run along it, the R-1 linking the Puerto Juarez ferry terminal with the Hotel Zone and the R-2 linking Avenida Kabah, and they stop at Playa Tortugas at km 6.5. Buses run 24 hours with reduced service after midnight, and a taxi is the alternative. Some piers have no public parking, as the Sunset Sailing Cruise listing states, so the bus or the hotel shuttle option matters.
Two charters skip the open-water crossing entirely. The 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks leaves from Marina La Amada on Isla Mujeres and the Isla Mujeres Private Yacht leaves from Marina Bartolome near the island's ferry terminal, or from the Punta Sam ferry terminal on the mainland if you decline the hotel pickup.
If you would rather position yourself on the island first, the Ultramar ferry from Playa Tortugas runs seven times a day from 9:15 to 18:00 with returns until 19:00, at 290 pesos one way plus a 36.56 peso environmental fee. Ferries from Puerto Juarez take 15 to 20 minutes and Hotel Zone piers take 25 to 30 minutes. Isla Mujeres itself lies about 13 km off the coast, and a private yacht from the lagoon marinas covers the crossing in roughly 30 to 40 minutes.

Every charter on this page sails the same stretch of the Mexican Caribbean. These are the destinations the routes actually reach.
1 to 2 hours on the water The shortest charters stay close, running the bay side of the 22.5 km Hotel Zone strip with the skyline behind you. The 2-hour option on the Private Yacht Rental 2 to 6 Hours covers the bay and the Nichupte lagoon channels, and the shared sunset sails work the same water. See the 46ft Private Yacht Rental for the lowest-priced bay boat.
Sunset, 2-hour cruises The lagoon sits between the Hotel Zone and the mainland, and getmyboat names its mangrove channels as a top nearby charter destination. Boats from the Hotel Zone marinas reach open water through these channels. The Sunset Lagoon Yacht Cruise runs the lagoon and the Bay of Cancun on a shared 2-hour evening loop.
About 30 to 40 minutes by private yacht from the lagoon marinas The island lies about 13 km off the coast and Playa Norte, its northern beach, is known for waist-deep water hundreds of yards from shore. Most private itineraries anchor here for swimming before lunch. The 55ft Yacht with Food and Drinks starts on the island itself and stops at Playa Norte.
Visibility quoted at 20 to 30 m at Manchones Manchones reef averages about 10 m depth and stretches over 800 m inside the national marine park, where only guides certified by the park authorities may lead tours. The Private Catamaran Charter includes snorkeling over the reefs around Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
3 to 6 m deep, snorkel and dive The Cancun Underwater Museum opened in 2010 and holds about 500 sculptures, 477 at Manchones and 23 at Punta Nizuc, set in 3 to 6 m of water on pH-neutral marine concrete to encourage coral growth. It was designed to draw snorkelers away from the natural reefs. The Private Sailing Tour includes a snorkel stop from its Playa Mujeres departure.
About 50 km north of Cancun, 45 to 60 minutes by boat The bird island national park admits at most 200 visitors per day and only through a permitted operator, with a conservation fee paid in cash at the dock. None of the yachts on this page lists Contoy, so it needs a dedicated tour. For the water most boats do reach, the Isla Mujeres Private Yacht snorkels a coral reef on its 4-hour run.

Cancun's average temperature is 27.1 C year-round and the sea stays between about 26 C in winter and 29 C in summer. What changes through the year is the wind, the rain and the risk of a closed port.
Two forces set the boating calendar. In winter, nortes are cold fronts that bring strong north or northwest wind for one to four days at a time, with the season running roughly from November to March and a front every week or two at the peak from December to February. In autumn, the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with an average season bringing 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes and a statistical midpoint of September 10.
On the calmer side, one guide calls the seas calmer from May to November, and Cancun Trip Insider calls November through April the sweet spot for lighter trade winds and calmer morning water, so both windows have their backers. Sargassum affects the east-facing coast mainly from May to August, while winter is among the lowest-sargassum times of year.
| Months | Sea | Risk | What to book |
|---|---|---|---|
| December to February | Choppy during nortes, fronts every one to two weeks at the peak | Port closures to small vessels on front days | Morning slots, keep a reschedule in mind, sea about 26 C |
| March to May | Lighter trade winds and calmer seas per Cancun Trip Insider | Sargassum arrivals build toward May | Longer charters and Isla Mujeres runs |
| June to August | Warmest water at 28 to 29 C, afternoon squalls and rough swells from July to September per Cancun Trip Insider | Hurricane season runs from June 1, sargassum peaks in June and July | Morning departures, wind builds after 11:00 per one snorkel guide |
| September to November | Rainy season, October the wettest month at 242.1 mm | Hurricane season peak around September 10, October described as unpredictable | Flexible cancellation, book boats with free cancellation to 24 hours before |
The Capitania de Puerto, the harbor authority, closes the port when wind and waves exceed limits. One published closure shut the port to vessels under 40 ft after southerly winds of 43 to 45 km/h with gusts of 58 km/h and waves of 0.90 m, and an earlier spring break closure did the same while larger vessels could still operate. On this page that size rule takes in the 31-foot fishing Bertram and the 32-foot catamaran, while the 46 to 60-foot yachts are above it, and the captain still has the final say on the day.
For your booking, the listings say the trip can be cancelled if the weather is bad, and the platforms refund a trip the operator cancels. Every listing on this page except the Hip Hop Boat Party offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, so you can walk away if the forecast turns. Nortes show up in 5 to 7 day forecasts but cannot be predicted months ahead, which is why booking far out is safe as long as you keep the cancellation window.
Sargassum is the brown seaweed that drifts onto east-facing Caribbean beaches, and Quintana Roo's government says it is no longer seasonal and needs permanent monitoring. SEMAR, the Mexican navy, reported 90,548 tonnes collected in the state by late August, with May and June the peak period, and rated the sargassum very low in early October, a declining phase after the June and July arrivals. The snorkel beaches most charters use sit on the sheltered bay and island side.
The other daily pattern is wind. A snorkel guide advises booking morning departures because the wind builds after 11:00. The bay side of Isla Mujeres turns choppy during a norte while east-facing Hotel Zone beaches are often calmer, so a good captain reads the flags and picks the sheltered water.

Everything was super cute! The yacht is beautiful, the guys were super friendly and helpful! and the experience was super good, everything on time and well organized! I give it 100!
Super fun ! Everyone's sooo sweet and helpful. I loved it will do 100x especially the instructor
This was a great day trip & well worth the money, especially since it included breakfast, lunch & drinks. The crew were so personable & lots of fun! They made it a fun, memorable day for my fiance & I, & we hope to return for another cruise with them next year when we bring our adult children to Mexico!
I have to say, I'm very happy that we did this tour. The team was excellent, the food was good, we had a lot of fun, and there was always a good atmosphere. Awesome.
Private yachts run from $250 per boat for the shortest option on the 46ft Private Yacht Rental up to $2,310 per boat for the 6-hour Azimut 47 to Isla Mujeres, and shared cruises start at $89 per person. See the full tour catalog for every price.
Most boats include the crew, snorkel gear, ice and bottled water, with drinks up to an open bar on some. Dock fees, tips and often food are extra, paid in cash per person at the marina. The cost and fees section lists what each listing excludes.
Yes. Several private listings reach the island, and a yacht from the Cancun lagoon marinas takes 30 to 40 minutes each way. The routes section covers the crossing, Playa Norte and the reef stops.
It depends on the listing. Named departure points on this page include Marina Puesta del Sol, Marina Sunset Lagoon, Marina Kaybal at km 3.5 of the Hotel Zone and Cancun Sunset Marina. The marinas section maps them out.
The Capitania de Puerto closes the port when wind and waves pass set limits, and one published closure shut it to vessels under 40 ft. The listings say the trip can be cancelled for bad weather, and the platform refunds a trip the operator cancels. The weather and port closures section explains the nortes.
A private price is per boat up to its guest cap and a shared cruise is per person, so the larger the group, the more a private boat makes sense. For two people a shared seat such as the Dancer Cruise to Isla Mujeres at $119 is the simpler choice. The comparison table puts every price side by side.
